Therefore, in accordance with our ByLaws and the NC State Statues, we have closed our doors and donated any remaining assets to the Coalition for Humane Treatment of Animals (CHTA).
If you have one of our signature blue and yellow "Doghouse" donation boxes,
please contact CHTA at 910.253.0909 or email them
for a replacement or pickup.

We encourage you to continue to locally support animal welfare and rights issues by sending donations to CHTA so they can continue the work.
We believe in their vision, their professionalism, and their ability to persevere.

Thank you, again, for believing in us all those years.
We wish you the continued, unconditional love of many animal friends.

Brunswick Animal League

The Board of Directors and Officers want to sincerely thank all those who supported and encouraged us for the last 26 years for spaying and neutering your pets; taking in those starving strays that wandered to your door looking for help and a loving home; rescuing and finding homes for animals you could no longer permanently keep; and especially for being sympathetic to, sterilizing, and vetting all those beautiful feral cats that you've dedicated your life to caring for--and so much more. All these acts of kindness and responsibility speak volumes as to the depth of your passion for animals and the quality of your character. There are no words to express our gratitude.

We have struggled like many businesses to simply survive financially and now we are at a crossroad.
Simply put, we do not have enough volunteers or funds to keep providing services on a regular basis.

26 Years in Business -- 1985 to June 1, 2011
A 501(c)3 North Carolina Non-profit Animal Welfare Organization

Most of us have supported the large animal welfare organizations (such as the
Humane Society of the United States, American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,
Best Friends, etc.) at one time or another. There is no argument that these large
organizations do a lot of good, especially in times of crisis; but, ask yourself this:
how do they help YOU in YOUR community?
Tote bags, address labels, and key chains are not hands-on help.
Local organizations impact our communities on a personal level.

If we do not support our remaining local animal welfare organizations and shelters, they will go out of business just as the League did, and all those animals we could have saved from starvation, disease, abuse, or simply needing a new loving home, will continue to suffer or die.

Please, spend your animal dollars locally and make a difference in your own backyard.

Thank You and Farewell
